The 14th Day

Are you in a relationship? Then let me just say... lucky butt. Are you single? Then let me just say... join the club. :) In South Korea, there is something special going on every 14th day of every month and sometimes it doesn't matter what your relationship status is. Here's what happens...

January 14th - Diary Day (Couples get diaries together in celebration of the New Year and plan to use it together for relationship reasons.)

February 14th - Valentines Day! (Yes, they celebrate this too, but the woman gives the man chocolates/candies/flowers...etc. This is also a day to maybe make your...second confession! heh heh. BTOB puns...)

March 14th - White Day (This was originally made in Japan, but this is the day when the man gives the woman chocolates/candies/flowers...etc :) )

April 14th - Jajangmyun Day (My favorite!!! All the single ladies.. erm... people.. go out to eat jajangmyun--a delicious noodle dish with black bean sauce--and celebrate the freedom of being single! Or you meet a partner... ;) )

May 14th - Rose Day (The lovely smelling day when couples give each other roses. :) )

June 14th - Kiss Day (umm...a website that I was doing extra research on said that you kiss anyone you meet, but I highly doubt you would want to kiss someone of the same gender, so I'm just going to say... A day when you get to kiss your partner. :) )

July 14th - Silver Day (The day where you get to exchange silver jewelry. $$)

August 14th - Green Day (A day where couples relax and enjoy nature, while the singles--as depressed as they are--drink soju until their hearts desire. :'( oh, the perks of being single....)

September 14th - Photo Day (Well, pretty self explanatory from the theme. You just take pictures of your significant other and yourself together and put it in a romantic area. I can't wait to do this when I get the chance...)

October 14th - Wine Day (On this day, you just enjoy wine with someone special. Yes, singles. That means that you can actually participate ^_^ unless you're underaged...)

*November 11th - Pepero Day (I know. This isn't the 14th day. But on this lovely day, the delicious Pepero Sticks are celebrated! Get it? Because it's 11-11! Pepero sticks are like Pocky. They come in chocolate, nude, and strawberry flavors. VERY delicious)

November 14th - Movie Day (Couples go watch movies at the theater. Ok. One, that will be one crowded movie day. Two, singles, you might wanna stay out of this one if you're uncomfortable with seeing cute couples...)

December 14th - Hug Day (Couples hug each other to keep warm in the 0 degree C weather. Hopefully, you have a cuddle buddy. Hey, guy/lady friends can help you out here. :) )

And then... the cycle starts all over again!!!!
